4th of July Jello Shots
The fourth of July is only one week away. Since Covid-19 is still trying to put a damper on our festivities, these 4th of July Jello Shots are sure to bring the party to wherever you celebrate.

I think almost everyone has a jello shot story.
You know the one.
The one where you were hanging with your friends and someone brings out a tray full of Jello filled plastic cups spiked with alcohol.
You can usually fill in the blanks on the rest of the story.

One of those occasions in my life, was part of a trip to Fort Myers, Florida a couple years ago for a friend’s bachelorette party.
Since no one could decide on what flavor of Jello was best, we soon had a large variety of (super) strong gelatin concoctions.

Needless to say, we didn’t venture very far from the condo’s backyard pool that evening and what was planned as a fancy night out ended up being a cozy, fun-filled night in.
We played board games, charades, and ordered far too much pizza.
It ended being one of the best evenings of the trip!

Now about these beautiful and festive treats.
Please don’t be intimidated by there looks.
Because if you can boil water, you can make these jello shots.

You just have to have a little patients and let each layer completely “set” before starting on the next color.

Since jello shots keep for a long time, go ahead and make these a day or two in advance of the 4th. This way you can have a fuss-free time with friends.
Serving up a tray full of these will ensure that the fireworks aren’t the only thing getting “lite” on the 4th!

Recipe Notes
- If you want your jello shots a little stronger, increase the vodka amount to 1/2 cup and decrease the cold water amount to 1/2 cup for the blue and red jello layers.
- Use your favorite kind of vodka- I make these with a Peach Vodka by a local distillery called Lonely Oak. Their North Forty Peach Flavored Vodka is the BEST!
- Line up the plastic cups on a baking tray. It makes for much easier transportation between the counter to fill and the fridge to chill/set.
