Beer & Honey Glazed Ham Recipe
Does any meal scream the holidays like a baked ham? I don’t think so. This main dish has been the star of many family Easter and Christmas dinners. Anyone can heat up a smoked ham right? Well you are correct. Why not make holidays a little extra special this year and make my Beer & Honey Glazed Ham Recipe.

Sure, you can buy and heat up a classic Honey Baked Ham, but with a few sweet, sticky, and slightly boozy ingredients, you can make a ham that is sure to please everyone.
So let’s jump in.

This recipe works with really any kind of ham your family prefers: country ham, shank-end ham, smoked ham, bone-in ham, or boneless.
Whichever you choose, be a little fancy and score the top of the ham in a diagonal pattern.
It is the holidays after all!

After making the ham look all sorts of fancy, it’s time to start baking.
Place the pretty ham into a roasting pan (I usually place it on a roasting rack in the pan). Then pour a can of your favorite beer over the top. Cover with foil and bake at 325F for about 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, it’s time to make the honey-glaze! In a small saucepan, heat the brown sugar, honey, and corn syrup (did I mention this glaze is sweet and sticky?).
Add the delicious glaze to the ham while it finishes baking.

After it has finished baking, all you have to do is slice the ham and serve it with the pan juices and warm glaze!
This recipe is perfect paired with my Cheesy Hash Brown Potatoes for Easter, Christmas, or anytime in between.

Beer & Honey Glazed Ham Recipe
This easy Beer & Honey Glazed Ham Recipe is perfect for Easter, Christmas, or any holiday spent with your family. The best baked ham recipe for a crowd.
Ingredients
- 5 lb Ham
- 1 can Beer
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cup Honey
- 1/4 cup Corn Syrup
Instructions
-
Score the ham in a diagonal pattern. Place into a roasting pan (with roasting rack if possible) and pour the can of beer over the top of ham. Cover with foil and bake at 325°F for 30 minutes.
-
Meanwhile in a small saucepan over low to medium-low heat, melt together the brown sugar, honey, and corn syrup. This will be very thick to begin with, but as it heats will start to thin out to make a pour-able glaze.
-
After baking the ham for 30 minutes, pour half of the glaze over the top of the ham. Turn the oven up to 350°F and bake for another 30 minutes, uncovered.
-
Then pour the remaining glaze over the top of the ham. Bake for another 15 minutes.
-
Remove from the oven and let stand 15-20 minutes. Slice and serve with juice and glaze.
Recipe Notes
- For every extra pound of ham (over 5 lbs) add 15 minutes of bake time to the original un-glazed bake at 325F.
- Because the glaze is very sticky, it is important to keep it warm before serving. When I take the ham out to rest, I pour any extra juice and glaze into a small saucepan to keep warm on the stove, until ready to serve.
