Best of 2017 Recipe Roundup
How is it when I look at the calendar I see that we are at the end of 2017 and looking into 2018? Doesn’t time just seem to fly? Well 2017 has given me plenty of great memories: starting this blog. taking a few trips, spending time with family and friends, and eating plenty of yummy food. Speaking of one of my favorite topics, I thought I would put together a handy post of the Best of 2017 Recipe Roundup that includes the top 5 viewed recipes on the blog for the past year.
Best of 2017 Recipe Roundup- #5: Perfect Coleslaw
It makes my heart happy that others love this recipe as much as my family has over the years. Perfect Coleslaw is the best sidekick for any summer BBQ, family potluck, or work week sandwich.
Creamy and dreamy, it uses a packaged coleslaw mix to make prep super easy!
Best of 2017 Recipe Roundup- #4: Leftover Thanksgiving Soup
Looks like I’m not the only one who struggles using up all of the leftover food from Thanksgiving. This Leftover Thanksgiving Soup helps use up the remaining veggies, broth, turkey, and stuffing from your big feast.
P.S. The soup is great anytime of year. Substitute chicken for the turkey and just omit the stuffing.
Best of 2017 Recipe Roundup- #3: Make Ahead Mashed Potatoes
Spuds + half the grocery store’s dairy aisle = Mom’s Make Ahead Mashed Potatoes
Perfect for any holiday gathering because they can be made ahead of time and kept warm in a slow cooker. No fuss makes a winning recipe every time!
Best of 2017 Recipe Roundup- #2: Caramel Puff Corn
Boy did this recipe take off over the holiday season. Seems like others decided that Caramel Puff Corn would make the perfect addition to a Christmas cookie/candy baking rotation.
Salty and sweet, it is ridiculously good. Everything you love about caramel popcorn, but without the hulls and kernels.
Best of 2017 Recipe Roundup- #1: Dr Pepper BBQ Pork
Drumroll please………
The most viewed recipe on My Farmhouse Table for 2017 is…. Dr Pepper BBQ Pork!
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. This recipe has three things going for it: Major Flavor, Dr Pepper, and Slow Cooker. Slow Cooker is key. Everyone loves the simplicity of being able to make a meal for the family that is slow cooked all day long.
Best of 2017 Recipe Roundup- Honorable Mentions
Now let’s not forget some of the honorable mentions:
Pumpkin Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting
Did your favorites from the blog make the list?
Also side note (sorry I’m so easily distracted). Look who has been a featured member on The Pioneer Woman’s community blog Tasty Kitchen this past month?
May the year ahead be full of happiness, love, and joy for you and your family.
Happy 2018!
