Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies
As much as I like the classic oatmeal raisin cookie (which is one of my dad’s favorites), this girl loves her chocolate just a little more. That’s why I felt the need to bake up these Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies.
Such a wonderful and easy treat to make and satisfy your family’s cravings when you just “get the munchies”. Or the perfect gift to give a neighbor in need or a friend just to show how much you appreciate them being in your life. Food is good for that sort of thing.
What is it about an oatmeal cookie? I think it is the slight nutty flavor the oatmeal gives off after it has baked. Or it could be the amazing smell! Seriously oatmeal cookies are one of those scents that should be bottled up and sold under the title of “Home!”. I am not to be trusted in any store that has an oatmeal cookie scented candle. I might as well hand them over my credit card and walk out the door with a bag full.
These cookies are a quick fix and make a great snack for packing in work, school, or harvest lunch boxes. Combined with the perfect amount of chocolate chips, it makes a tasty treat with few leftovers even after making a large batch.
This recipe for Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies makes a batch of about 4 dozen using a tablespoon sized cookie scoop and then flattening the dough slightly before putting in the oven for baking.
Best part is, all the ingredients are probably in your pantry and spice cabinet as we speak. What are you waiting for? Get to baking!

Thanks for the review Julia! I love them too!
I was wondering what sort of oatmeal you recommend for this recipe?
I have used both old-fashioned and quick oatmeal. Both work out well.
