Dad’s Pork Burgers
Sunday is Father’s Day. My dad knows his way around the kitchen. He always loves cooking breakfast, grilling, and anything that includes sweet potatoes. And even though we raise cattle, Dad has always had a soft spot for any meal that includes pork. He has been making these Pork Burgers for as long as I can remember and after some begging/pleading, Dad agreed that I could share his recipe with y’all.
Most of Dad’s recipes don’t include a lot of fuss.
Or a lot of ingredients.
Dad’s Pork Burgers only need 3.
These patties can be used as a homemade breakfast sausage, with hashbrowns and a fried egg.
Or slapped between a bun with BBQ sauce and a slice of grilled pineapple.
Thanks for letting me share your recipe Dad.
Happy Father’s Day!
Dad's Pork Burgers
- 2 lbs Ground Pork
- 1 1/2 Tbsp Liquid Smoke
- 1 Tbsp Mustard Seeds
In a bowl; combine the ground pork, liquid smoke, and mustard seeds.
Divide meat mixture into 1/3 lb patties (6 total).
Grill the patties on medium high to high heat (I set my grill at 400-425 degrees F) 8-10 minutes per side or until the burgers are cooked throughout and reach an internal temp of 160 degrees.
Serve as a breakfast sausage patty or at a family cookout on a bun with BBQ sauce, sliced grilled pineapple, and your favorite side salads.
