Game Day Caramel Brownies
When it comes to game day food ideas, one of the most important things to remember while planning for your tailgate or Super Bowl party is to make things that are easy to eat and can be made in advance. No body wants to be missing kick off because your trying to pull together an intricate five course meal. That’s not “football food”. Football food are recipes like Momma’s Taco Soup, or these Grilled Jalapeno Poppers, or even the recipe for Taco Dip I shared last week. But what is a good football party without a delicious dessert? I bring you Game Day Caramel Brownies!

Also known in the food world as “Knock You Naked Brownies”.
I’ll let you fill in the blanks on that one. š
This recipe couldn’t be easier with a boxed cake mix, caramel fruit dip, and mini chocolate chips, you are on your way to ooey gooey deliciousness.

Now there are two ways you can make these brownies.
If you are into a thinner brownie… I bake these in a 9×13 inch pan.
If you want it thicker (my personal preference)… bake in a 8×8 inch pan.

I mean isn’t she a beauty?
Bake up a pan and watch these perfect caramel brownies disappear before half time.

Game Day Caramel Brownies
Ingredients
- 1 box (15.25 oz) German Chocolate Cake Mix
- 3/4 cup Butter, melted
- 1/3 cup Evaporated Milk
- 1/2 pkg (16.5 oz) Caramel Fruit Dip, slightly warmed
- 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips
Instructions
-
In a bowl, combine cake mix, butter, and evaporated milk. Stir by hand until dough holds together.
-
Press half the dough into a greased 8×8 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 12 minutes. Remove from oven and let sit a minute or two.
-
Spread the warmed caramel fruit dip over the baked brownie layer and then sprinkle on the chocolate chips.
-
Put remaining brownie batter on top. Sometimes this is easiest to do by pressing the batter onto a piece of parchment paper in the approximate size of your baking dish. Then gently place the formed batter layer onto caramel/chocolate chip layer in pan.
-
Bake an additional 20 minutes. Do not overbake. The top dough may appear that it is not thoroughly cooked, but once it cools, it will be soft and chewy.
-
Notes: You can also make a thinner brownie by baking in a 9×13 inch pan. Follow the same directions, but cook for 6-8 minutes in the initial bake then an additional 15-18 minutes in the second bake.
-
Optional: You may also choose to add up to 1 cup of chopped nuts to the batter before baking.
