How To Boil Eggs
Every year around Easter time, it never fails… I start to see people posting the question “How To Boil Eggs”? It seems simple enough, right? But unless you follow the right steps, sometimes the egg is over or under cooked. Or even worse, the shell becomes so hard to remove, your perfect hard boiled eggs end up looking like a war zone instead of something from Martha Stewart.

But with these step-by-step, super simple instructions, you’ll be a professional in no time at all!
How To Boil Eggs- Step by Step
Fill a saucepan with water and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Then using a slotted spoon slowly lower each egg (as many as you like) into the water.

And when I mean slowly… I mean SLOWLY!
The slower you go the less likely the egg is to crack as it isn’t being shocked between the temperature changes.
(Don’t worry if the egg does crack… it does happen from time to time.)

Next, let the eggs boil for about 30 seconds before turning the heat down to a simmer (about medium-low heat).
Simmer for 12 minutes.
After the eggs have cooked, slowly pour out the hot water, while at the same time replacing the boiling water with cold tap water.

Once only cold water remains in the pan, let eggs rest for 15 minutes before peeling.

The egg shell almost always comes off in one piece!
