Puppy Chow Lava Cakes For Two
Molten lava cakes have graced many restaurant dessert menus like Chili’s or Applebees. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner why not stay home, open a bottle of wine, grill a couple steaks, and finish the night with these Puppy Chow Lava Cakes For Two!
Why did I name this Puppy Chow Lava Cakes? Because what goes better with chocolate than peanut butter?
And since chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar are the three main ingredients in this cake (just like Puppy Chow!) it makes the perfect sweet treat for two!
These cakes get their name from the surprise on the inside.
As you break into this delectable dessert, a warm and gooey chocolate “lava” flows out onto the plate.
To drive home the “puppy chow” name, you can top each warm cake with sifted powdered sugar.
Or go a la mode with a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream.
(Plus it helps to cut through some of the cakes richness)
But don’t stop there.
Amp up the presentation with a zig-zag of caramel or chocolate sauce and a sprinkling of chopped pecans.
