Snowman Top Hat Christmas Cookies

Snowman Top Hat Christmas Cookies

Welcome to December everyone! Even though I have been found guilty of enjoying Hallmark Channel’s Christmas movies for over a month now, I did hold off decorating for the holiday, until the day after Thanksgiving. Probably because of all the boxes I have to find, haul up the stairs from our basement, and then unpack! Man. I sure got my steps in that day. Phew! Besides decorating and watching my favorite Christmas movies, my next favorite December activity has to be making all my favorite seasonal treats and goodies, including these Snowman Top Hat Christmas Cookies!

I make a variety of holiday cookies and candies, such as these Decorated Christmas Sugar Cookies!

Or my Homemade Salted Nut Rolls.

The first holiday recipe I posted on the blog: Christmas Shortbread Cookies.

And my absolute favorite: Chocolate Peanut Butter Ritz Crackers!

Oh! Can’t forget these Pioneer Woman Chocolate Peppermint Cookies.

Speaking about The Pioneer Woman.

I don’t believe I have mentioned on the blog yet, but later this week my best friend, Bree, and I are going to Pawhuska to stay in her Boarding House hotel and do plenty of Christmas shopping (and eating) at The Merc!

Be sure to follow along on my Instagram account to catch all the fun details of our trip!

Now back to our regular programming.

These super cute and simple snowman hat cookies.

Really they are only a few ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag (12 oz) Chocolate Candy Coating Melts
  • 14 Oreo Cookies
  • 14 Large Marshmallows
  • Decorations: Icing, M&M's, Sprinkles, etc

Instructions

  1. Line a large baking sheet with wax or parchment paper.

  2. Melt a small amount of the chocolate candy coating mix per the instructions on the bag.

  3. Then place a small spoonful of the chocolate on top of an Oreo cookie. Place a large marshmallow on top of the chocolate and let sit, until the marsmallow and Oreo are firmly stuck together.

  4. Repeat until all of the marshmallows and Oreos are stuck together to create a "top hat".

  5. Next, melt the remaining chocolate and then carefully dip the marshmallow and cookie into the chocolate. Coat well and then let any excess chocolate drip away before place the cookie back onto the wax paper-lined baking sheet.

  6. Decorate your snowman hat however you wish. I used store-bought glitter icing, with a mini red M&M, and holly sprinkles.

This year I found out that @hallmarkchannel hosts a Christmas fantasy game, similar to the NFL’s fantasy football, you draft different Hallmark movies each week based on which ones you think will get the most viewers. It was a fun way to pass the two months 😱 of Christmas 24/7. Pretty excited to say that my team (of just mom and I) ended up ranked #20. Excited to see what we can do next year! 🎄💪🏼
