Separate the biscuits and cut out the center using a small biscuit cutter or battle cap.
Heat oil in a Dutch oven or electric skillet over medium-high heat until the temperature reaches 350 degree F.
Working in batches, gently drop doughnuts and doughnut holes into the heated oil. Fry for about 60-90 seconds, before gently flipping and frying for an additional 60 seconds or until the doughnuts are golden brown.
Remove doughnuts from oil and gently toss in the sugar.
Serve warm.
