7 Things I’m Thankful For

7 Things I’m Thankful For

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and it really is one of my favorite holidays. A day centered around food and family really can’t be beat, but pair that with the excitement of Christmas around the corner and you have the makings of something special. Thanksgiving is also a time to take a few moments and remember all the blessings that have been experienced in the past 365 days. In my time of reminiscing I was able to compile this list of 7 Things I’m Thankful For.

7 Things I'm Thankful For Sunsets Food Agriculture Cows Family Travel Friends and Co Workers

Things I’m Thankful For #1: Friends

Friends- I have always been one who goes more by the saying “I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies”. And that really couldn’t be truer than my group of friends. I’ve never been an overly popular person, but I have always had people I could turn to in times of need or at least those that wouldn’t judge me for just being me.

Some I’ve known for what seems like forever.

Some came along in college.

Some show me that its always a good idea to be up for adventures.

And some simple are the BEST!

Things I’m Thankful For #2: Food

If you haven’t realized it by now in reading this blog, I love food!

Things I’m Thankful For #3: Travel

Especially this past year, I have been blessed with the opportunity to do a bit more traveling than I usually would.

I have always loved getting the chance to road trip or fly to new places, check off bucket list ideas, and experience new cultures.

This year I was able to take a road trip with friends to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Chicago.

And spend time with my parents, road tripping around Alberta Canada.

Seriously, it was stunning!

To wrap up the year of travel, I spent a weekend in upstate New York with a dear college friend and her family on their apple orchard.

Things I’m Thankful For #4: Co-Workers

First off, I’m thankful to have a job in agriculture I enjoy. But what I’m really thankful for are the people I get to work with.

It’s a crazy, miss-matched crew. And I wouldn’t have it any other way!

We find humor in mundane tasks, don’t think twice about lending a helping hand when individual work loads get overbearing, and appreciate a well organized food day or an after 5 beverage!

Things I’m Thankful For #5: Agriculture

I’m thankful I was able to grow up on a farm and learn first hand the life experiences that only agriculture can show.

For the cows, crops, and farm life in general.

Agriculture brings plenty of joy to my life and the people I have known and met through ag are the best around.

Things I’m Thankful For #6: Sunsets

Sunsets. There is just something about them.

Sunsets on the Farm

The way sunsets fill the western sky with vibrant colors in the fading light are a reminder to me of the love and grace of God.

His daily promise that even if today wasn’t all you had planned, there is always something to look forward to.

Things I’m Thankful For #7: My Parents

My parents have always been a big factor in my life.

Mom. Fierce momma bear. My biggest cheerleader. And recently acquired the role of blog editor and hand model.

Dad. Hard worker. Funny and slightly goofy. We are so similar, he truly is my best friend.

Things I’m Thankful For (Bonus): You!

Yes. I’m thankful for you!

Whoever you are reading this blog filled with my ramblings and love of food.

I appreciate your social media likes, shares, and comments.

Your enthusiasm, love, and support have meant the world to me as I share a bit more of my creative side with the big (on-line) world.

Y’all are the best!

Happy Thanksgiving (and lots of LOVE!)

Sunrises are also great. Although I will admit, most of the time I see them with one eye open (not a morning person). Happy Thanksgiving Mitzi!
