My Favorite Things: Lady’s Christmas Buying Guide
Hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday and today brings the joys of Christmas decorating, leftover eating, football watching, and gift buying! I used to do the whole Black Friday shopping as a fun little excursion, but when retail stores started encroaching on Turkey Day it lost the luster for me. Plus, because everyone has busy lives, on-line shopping has become a lifesaver. No crowded check out lines, no trying to find a parking spot, and lets be super honest, no changing out of my yoga pants (that have never seen yoga). This is a list of My Favorite Things: Lady’s Christmas Buying Guide to get your holiday shopping kicked off!
My Favorite Things: Boss Lady Coffee Mug
I saw this mug a couple years ago and mentioned to my best friend how much I loved it! Guess what I received for Christmas that year? Yep! A “Boss Lady” Coffee Mug.
It’s a great way to get the day started. And how beautiful is the lettering?
My Favorite Things: Flannel Shirt
Now I realize a flannel shirt is not everyone’s cup of tea. But personally, I am a big lover of lumberjack couture. After years of seeing Duluth’s commercials, I finally broke down and bought a “Free Swingin Flannel Shirt“.
What I love most about these shirts (and I do love these shirts- I now have four in a variety of colors!) is that they are extremely comfortable. These flannels have room to move through the arms and chest, are warm but not hot, and the perfect shirt to wear to town or doing chores on the farm.
My Favorite Things: Girl’s Night Out
One of my favorite gift ideas, isn’t even something that can be wrapped. I love giving the gift of experiences.
Make a gift certificate, throw in some money, and attach it all to a great bottle of wine.
Plan a night where the lady in your life can go out on the town with a group of friends and you stay behind, man the house and take care of the kids. Believe me- This gift will be greatly loved and appreciated.
My Favorite Things: Muck Boots
I don’t know a single farmgirl who hasn’t at one point or another done chores in a pair of pajama pants and muck boots.Believe me the cows don’t care what I look like and changing into jeans for 2 AM calving checks in winter just doesn’t sound pleasing. You throw on a heavy coat, stuff your pj bottoms into these muck boots and away you go.
My Favorite Things: Alex and Ani Bracelet
Along with giving me my beloved, Boss Lady Mug, my best friend Bree also introduced me to Alex and Ani bracelets. They come in a variety of designs and finishes but this cross one is a favorite of mine.
My Favorite Things: The Pioneer Woman Cookbook
I’ve been a huge fan of The Pioneer Woman for years. I started reading Ree’s blog and have grown to collect all of the cookbooks she has released.Ree’s latest cookbook, “The Pioneer Woman Cooks! Come and Get It!: Simple, Scrumptious Recipes for Crazy Busy Lives” is a wonderful addition to a cookbook collection. What I love most about her recipes is there are step by step instructions, the ingredients are readily available, and family approved.
My Favorite Things: Capturing the Memories
I love taking pictures it doesn’t matter if I’m doing it on my iPhone or on my DSLR camera.Giving a loved one the ability to take and print pictures is something that they will cherish for years to come.
Another great idea, is purchasing a gift certificate to a local photographer. That way you force mom to be on the other side of the camera and in the pictures too!
