Scheuring Family Reunion
Yesterday my aunt and uncle hosted a Scheuring Family Reunion at their house. It had been years since one was put on, so of course the time was spent fawning over the new family additions (boyfriends/grilfriends, spouses, children, grandchildren, etc). But also it was a time to remember those family members we have lost as well. My aunt and uncle live on the original Scheuring homestead. They recently painted the whole outside of their early 1900 farmhouse, a major undertaking, and wanted to use the occasion to bring everyone in to see it.
Of course there was plenty of food. Crockpots of maid rites, pork loin, chicken and ham. Dishes of casseroles, garden bounty, and side salads. And a long table with an array of desserts to share. If you go home hungry, you are not doing a family reunion right. Obviously I did it right, since I skipped a pic of the food spread in order to fully commit to my overly filled plate of delicious food.
A photo from a 1970’s Scheuring Family Reunion had recently been found, so it was undertaken to try and recreate that picture. It took a few tries and directing, but everyone looking at the camera and eyes open I consider a win!
Of course there was some goofing around in the process.
And the addition of a few other members of the family.
At least Lisa was paying attention to my candid shots. I think Sara is wondering why Chris has a plate full of walnuts.
Owen’s got a chokehold on Lauren.
But Keldi was having fun on the slide.
Hi Dad! š
Competitive games of bag toss.
I think Harper likes Aunt Amanda.
Keldi made sure to photobomb Tyler and Collin’s bro handshake in the background.
And to round out the day, with a bit more directing and shuffling around of picnic tables
we were able to get a great group picture of the 2017 Scheuring Family Reunion!
Awesome! I can’t wait to show Rus.
Yes! I was excited to see that it turned out pretty well with that many people!
