Annual Tractor Ride

August 28, 2018 by My Farmhouse Table 2 Comments

Annual Tractor Ride

For the past few years, a local group of guys put on an Annual Tractor Ride at the end of August that travels around Shelby County.

The tractor ride’s route varies from year to year. Taking different back roads, stopping in various towns, parks, and attractions along the drive.

This years ride came by our neck of the woods, so I decided to take a few pictures of the festivities.

Annual Tractor Ride

That’s my Uncle Billy leading the pack.

Hey…. Are you supposed to be talking on the cell phone and driving at the same time?

Like maybe you should watch where you are going?

Please?  🙂

The Annual Tractor Ride brings out all of the local characters.

Like Dean

And Travis

(Don’t you be shaking your finger at me!)

The ride also makes sure to include all shapes and sizes.

Of tractors I mean!

There was John Deere.

Farmall

Minneapolis Moline

International

and Oliver.

Tractors that have been well worked.

And well loved.

With cabs

And without.

One rider

Or Three!

The ride was full of neighbors

Friends

and Family.

Wait!

That’s not a tractor!

Nope.

It’s Chelsea and Dad in the “repair” truck.

None of these tractors are without their quirks and sometimes they need some extra love along the way.

So it’s best to bring along all the tools and gear that may be needed.

It was the perfect way to spend a late summer afternoon along an old gravel road.

Is there anything better then a warm chocolate chi Is there anything better then a warm chocolate chip cookie?

I don’t think so...

That’s why I love to keep a stash of this Frozen Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ready to go!

Just place a couple cookies on a baking sheet, straight from the freezer, and in about 10 minutes, fresh baked cookies are ready to be demolished 🍪

The concept is this... the recipe makes enough to have a meal now and then a second meal to freeze for a later time.

Answer the question “What’s for dinner tonight?” ✅

This super simple Chili recipe fits the bill. Few ingredients and quick turnaround make it a winner in my book!

Serve over hot dogs, Fritos, or (for all my Midwest peeps) beside a cinnamon roll!
