Honey Lime Margaritas
There are few things in this world that can cure a multitude of life’s hard knocks quite like a trip to your favorite Mexican restaurant. Chips, salsa, and tequila have a way of being balm for a weary soul, and this recipe for Honey Lime Margaritas is no exception.

Now you may be saying… Honey and Lime?
Yes! Honey and Lime my friends.

Because while I don’t like overly sweet margaritas, they do usually benefit from the help of a simple syrup.
Simple syrups are just equal parts sugar and water, heated together, cooled and then added to your favorite cocktails.
But to change things up, instead of sugar, I love to use honey.

It adds the necessary sweetness, but also a little something, something.
If you know what I mean?

Once your honey simple syrup is made and cooled, it’s time to assemble the margaritas.
To a cocktail shaker, add some ice.
Followed by the tequila, simple syrup, lime juice, and triple sec.
Do a little shimmy shimmy, shake shake, until the drink is chilled and mixed.

To a couple glasses, rub a lime wedge along the rim and then roll the glass edge into salt or my favorite- a little Tajin (chili-lime) seasoning.
Then pour your delicious Honey Lime margaritas into the prepared glasses.
Sip and repeat to your heart’s content.
