Starbucks Eggnog Chai Latte

Starbucks Eggnog Chai Latte

Christmas and wintertime call for all the warm and cozy beverages possible. This homemade recipe for Starbucks Eggnog Chai Latte is the perfect addition to an afternoon curled up under a fuzzy blanket while watching your favorite Christmas movie.

Now, as the name mentions, this is a copycat version of the seasonal Starbucks drink, but the true source comes from my best friend, Bree.

A couple years ago as we were out and about for Christmas festivities, Bree swore I needed to try the chai eggnog latte from Starbucks. When we stopped at the local drive-thru, they were out of the ingredients to make the drink.

Cue my best friend doing best friend things.

She decided she didn’t need Starbucks and could make the drink herself.

After a quick stop at the grocery store for a couple ingredients, and a little trial and error with amounts, this was the result.

The DELICIOUS result.

All you need are three simple ingredients.

Your favorite chai tea concentrate. Eggnog. And Milk.

Start by heating the eggnog and milk together.

I like doing this in a saucepan on the stove, stirring occasionally until the mixture starts to steam but does not boil.

Remove the pan from the heat and then froth the mixture with a milk frother wand or whisk.

Pour the now frothed eggnog milk mixture over two mugs filled with heated chai tea concentrate.

Top with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle of cinnamon and/or nutmeg.

Wrap yourself in something cozy and enjoy the warmth of this drink in front of your fireplace or by the light of your Christmas tree.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Chai Tea Concentrate
  • 3/4 cup Eggnog
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • Whipped Cream, Cinnamon, and Nutmeg for topping optional

Instructions

  1. Heat the chai tea concentrate to desired temperature. (I usually do this in the microwave).

  2. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, whisk together the eggnog and milk. Heat over medium until the eggnog and milk starts to steam but does not boil. Remove pan from the heat and then, using a handheld milk frother or whisk, beat the heated eggnog and milk until doubled in volume and foamed.

  3. Divide the warmed chai tea into two mugs and then top with frothed eggnog and milk mixture.

  4. Top with whipped cream, and a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg. Serve warm.
