Valentine’s Day: 14 Things I Love
Happy Valentine’s Day! A day for love, last minute flower deliveries, and hello… Chocolate! But on today, I try to look past the day as just another Hallmark holiday (It is Ash Wednesday as well!) and focus on my list of Valentine’s Day: 14 Things I Love.
Valentine’s Day: 14 Things I Love- Smell of Fresh Baked Bread
There are a lot of smells I have come to love through the years.
Bacon
Coffee
Corn Silage
Freshly Washed Sheets
A Beef Roast that has been slow-cooked all day
And above all… The smell of freshly baked bread!
Valentine’s Day: 14 Things I Love- Laughter
“The Most Wasted of All Days is One Without Laughter” ~ E.E. Cummings
I love to laugh and am happy to say I feel like I do so easily.
I love being the comedian of a group, lightening moods, and hopefully making someone else’s day better.
Valentine’s Day: 14 Things I Love- Cookbooks
My love of cooking also leads me to having a love for cookbooks.
I love small town church cookbooks.
Cookbooks I have picked up from travels.
And of course, my ever loyal arsenal of The Pioneer Woman Cookbooks.
Valentine’s Day: 14 Things I Love- Sunsets
Sunsets
I love how they catch me some evenings off guard. We are all running around with our busy days full of work, activities, cooking, cleaning, and just keeping on.
And no matter how difficult the day, I love the feeling I get from an amazing sunset. Like God saying “I know today’s been tough, but here is my promise of a brighter future.”
Valentine’s Day: 14 Things I Love- Cows
I love how each cow has their own personality and quirks.
And I love the curly hair on their heads.
Valentine’s Day: 14 Things I Love- Candles
I love a great candle. The low light flicker, just makes a cold winter day seem a little cozier.
I also love that I can light one and instantly my house smells like a bakery.
Valentine’s Day: 14 Things I Love- Husker Football
Have I mentioned before that I love football?
Flag Football
High School Football
NFL
Or Even Backyard “Football” with family after Thanksgiving.
But the biggest football love is watching my Huskers.
Valentine’s Day: 14 Things I Love- Hand Written Notes
In a world of social media and text messages, a simple hand written note is something I love.
It can be a thank you note, a Happy Birthday wish, or a simple “I Love You” post it note.
Hand Written Notes are something special.
Valentine’s Day: 14 Things I Love- Steak
Christmas Eve, My Birthday, or Sunday Dinners.
A perfectly grilled steak is my family’s go to meal for special occasions or just simple quiet days.
Valentine’s Day: 14 Things I Love- Traveling
I have always loved traveling and this past year made it more of a priority in my life.
Getting out seeing new places, like our trip to Canada…
Or my fall trip to New York, to catch up with a college friend…
With my two trusty travel companions…
Coffee
and my great Samantha Brown bags.
Valentine’s Day: 14 Things I Love- Music
I’ve always been a fan of music and have a wide range of favorite songs, artists, and genres.
George Strait to Ed Sheeran
Bruno Mars to Bob Seger to Aaron Watson and the Eagles.
Last year for Christmas, my parents gave me this guitar. I had always wanted to learn to play, so it was perfect. I’m not saying I’ll be joining a band anytime soon (hello short finger syndrome), but I have yet to find something as relaxing and therapeutic as strumming this guitar.
Also how beautiful is this recent “treat yourself” purchase I made? When you purchase a Sackcloth and Ashes blanket the company donates a second blanket to a local homeless shelter. How awesome is that?
Valentine’s Day: 14 Things I Love- White Dishes
I’ve collected a few different sets of dishes throughout the years, but nothing looks cleaner (and makes prettier blog pictures) than beautiful white dishes.
Also I love oversized mugs. Leaves more room for whipped cream and marshmallows that way.
Valentine’s Day: 14 Things I Love- My Parents
They Are The Best.
Nuff Said
Valentine’s Day: 14 Things I Love- Blogging And You!
I’ve been blogging over 6 months.
Say What?
I love being able to share and have grown through this blog. That is only made possible by you all following along, commenting, and sharing.
I Love Ya!
